Robert K. Kraft makes major investment in Breakthrough and challenges supporters to join him!
In June 2014, New England Patriots owner Robert K. Kraft purchased laptops for every student in our summer program.
Access to technology is not unlike access to books or pencils in generations past! We are thrilled and honored to partner with Mr. Kraft to ensure all students - regardless of income - can succeed academically.
While technology is vital, students also need high-quality programming to succeed. They need a program like Breakthrough that leverages a unique Students Teaching Students model that puts low-income students on the path to college by pairing them with inspiring college-age teachers and role models.
In a strong demonstration of his belief in Breakthrough and the bright future of all Breakthrough students, Mr. Kraft has committed to matching every individual donation made to Breakthrough between now and July 31st, up to $30,000.
Each summer we ask our students to rise to the challenges we put in front of them. Today, we ask you to rise to the challenge by making a donation and helping us double the impact of your gift!
Campaign for Advancement: Breaking Through to Boston
Double the Successes!
Breakthrough is proud to announce that after 20 years of chronicled results in Cambridge, we are undertaking a major initiative to strengthen our services and to open a new Breakthrough site at TechBoston Academy (TBA) in Dorchester. I invite you to join our Campaign for Advancement to double Breakthrough’s impact – and double the successes! Together we can reach 500 students and train over 100 teachers every year.
With your help, more underserved kids will receive high quality out-of-school-time (OST) programming that is crucial for closing the achievement gap. In Boston, two-thirds of students lack any OST options! Your contribution will help propel us into Boston to build on our foundation, broaden our impact, and apply critical resources to support more students’ dreams of attending college.
“We are eager to introduce Breakthrough’s positive, transformative influence into the TBA community. Together, we believe we can exceed all previous measure of success.” Mary Skipper, Headmaster of TechBoston Academy in Dorchester.
The campaign will raise $3.8 million over the next three years. We invite you to join the Breakthrough’s Sustainers Circle with a three-year pledge. Or, make a one-time gift and support this Annual Fund Drive. Either way, you will contribute to an important phase in our his¬tory at a level that is right for you.
We simply cannot break through to Boston without you. Thank you in advance for your consideration.
You can make a financial donation two ways:
Mail your donation, payable to “Breakthrough Greater Boston”, to P.O. Box 381486, Cambridge, MA 02238.
Your gift will be tax-deductible. - Thank you!
